Guest post time! Today it’s a guest post by Joel Babbitt, author of “The Trials of Caste” and “Into the Heart of Evil”. Welcome to my blog, Joel! I’ll leave the word to you now.

Guest Post

I find that writing poetry gets my creative juices going, and nothing inspires poetry like love.

“My Two Shoes” (about Kristen Babbitt, my wife of 18 years, mother of our 4 children, and local church leader)

My feet are two different sizes, because of cerebral palsy.
My life is two different rhythms, because of family and a calling.

I always buy two pairs of shoes, one in size 7 ½ and the other in size 8 ½.
I always have two lives each day, one that’s filled with taking care of family and the house and another that’s filled with sister missionaries, e-mail, and visiting people in need.

I don’t do high heels, because I’d fall over.
I don’t do running shoes, because I don’t run.
I love walking shoes, because four children keep me hustling.
My husband likes my fancy pumps, and that’s good enough for me.

You may see a person who walks a bit lopsided at times,
But I feel completely balanced.
