NOTHING IS WRONG WITH PEOPLE

“It is wrong to claim that university education is fine the way it is. The claim means that something is wrong with the people that education is not working for. That is not true. Nothing is wrong with people. Instead, something is wrong with the education.

It is also wrong to suggest that education does not work because the quality of education is low. In nearly all cases, the quality of the educational system that was handed over by the colonialists on Independence Day was higher than it is today. Better quality education did not bring real development back then. In addition, thousands of people from underdeveloped countries have received their degrees from ‘higher-quality’ Western universities.” Education has simply never met its expectations.

About the Book

frontcover-the_failure_of_university_education_for_developmentTitle: The Failure of University Education for Development & What To Teach Instead

Author: Samuel A. Odunsi, Sr.

Genre: Nonfiction, education, economics

Finally, a New Big Idea that Solves Our Toughest Problems.

New book by Samuel A. Odunsi, Sr. defines the problem of tacit cultural knowledge in education and how to solve it.

University education may benefit the individual, but it has not led to overall economic development.  For many developing countries, the hope behind university education far exceeds the results. The ideas and solution presented in this book provides a way to equalize the results of university education with the hope and unrealized expectations behind it.

  • Education cannot teach everything about development. The most crucial aspects of development are tacit in nature and cannot be directly expressed or taught. Instead, they are acquired passively in culture.
  • Liberal Education has struggled with this problem. While its lofty goals are well defined, they cannot be met without the tacit knowledge for development, which it can barely define, much less teach.
  • The concept of “Cultural Diversity” recognizes that there are differences between cultures, including tacit cultural knowledge.
  • The tacit knowledge needed for development is not specific knowledge. Instead it is the connection of the elements of the western economic model, that may be learned in school, to the language capacity that all human beings already possess and use for creatively expressing the spoken language.
  • This is why expatriates from the West and the developed countries of Asia often perform successfully as managers and entrepreneurs in the developing countries, despite the constraints of underdevelopment. To them, the elements of the economic model are merely vocabulary to be expressed as management, administration, or entrepreneurship, using the language capacity.
  • The purpose of university education should be to connect technical knowledge about economic development with the language capacity that students already possess. In the same way that the human language capacity can be repurposed for the use of a second language. Graduates can then express the economic model with the versatility and creativity they already use for expressing the spoken language.
  • The means for achieving this purpose is now available and presented in the book and on this site: HumanRethink.net.

Author Bio

Born in Nigeria, Samuel A. Odunsi, Sr. left for college in Texas in 1982 and has lived in Austin ever since.

A new big idea about how education actually works and how to bring real development to the rest of the world has finally been developed.

I stumbled on this discovery decades ago, after years of working as a freelance research assistant in the Austin, Texas area. I realized that this is what marked the difference between education that could make the university graduate an effective manager, no matter the area of specialization, and education that merely promised to do so. It was the difference between the disorder of the world in which we live, and one where every country can be as developed as the western nations.

But I was not an academic, and I’m still not one. This meant I couldn’t pursue the new ideas full time. Nevertheless, I spent much of my free time researching and substantiating these ideas. However, the demands of making a living in a business that is unrelated, and the demands of family made it a never ending project.

Meanwhile, 9-11 happened, then the Arab Spring, then ISIS.  In all these events, I believe my ideas had an important role to play. I believe they provide the essential but missing narrative in these events as well as in many others. The new ideas provide the answer to a lot of questions.

In 2015, after the loss of my father and younger sister, I realized I may never have the time to present the ideas in the 5 volumes I had always planned.  At the same time, I also realized that the solution was more important than the presentation or its length. I then proceeded to write down my key ideas in 1 short volume, using language that is accessible to the casual reader. I now have a book ready!

I’m in the process of presenting the contents of the book on Humanrethin.net, broadcasting them as much as I can, taking on all challengers, and raising funds to begin implementation anywhere on the planet.

But first, I need to get the ideas out there.  I’m hoping this book tour will help.

Book Excerpt

Gerry picked up the internal mic and said, “Tripp, Jim, we’re trying to make it to Tan Chau and land in the Mekong. I’m ordering you to say a prayer to your God. Do it now.  We’re a half hour out.  Buckle up.”

Fifteen minutes later Watson said, “Gerry, we just passed over the border. We’re in Vietnam now. Put out a distress call.”

Gerry picked up the external microphone and dialed in the proper frequency on the radio. There was nothing.

“Radio’s dead. Must have gotten hit,” Gerry said.

“Dandy, just fucking dandy,” Watson said. “Looks like we might make it to the river. It’ll be close.”

            “There it is,” Gerry said.

“I see it. Let’s drop into that area just outside the town. It looks to be the widest and I’m hoping there’s less traffic on it,” Watson said.

“What about that island?” Gerry asked.

            “We should stop before that.”

            “Okay, let’s do’er,” Gerry said.

Watson banked the plane to the port and started dropping altitude. He straightened the aircraft while continuing to drop.

Gerry picked up the internal mic and said, “Brace for crash landing.”

The plan lurched to the starboard as the right side engine sputtered and stopped. Watson pulled her port and held it. Gerry grabbed his controls and helped to keep the plane on a straight path.

There were several small fishing boats in their path and Watson pulled up passing over them by 10 feet. They hit the water just 50 feet from the frightened but relieved fishermen. The plane skipped and continued up the Mekong and then hit the water again.

“Oh shit, we’re not going to make it,” Gerry said and did the sign of the cross.

“Fuck,” Watson yelled as the plane hit the upward sloping soft river bottom of the island and the tail lifted out of the water and tipped the C-123 upside down onto the island.

Cleptus Chapter

Caderyn stopped at the fifth apartment. From within there was scraping and a woman shouting as if she was on her last nerve. He counted the doors to make sure he chose the right place as the woman grew angrier, her shrill orders coinciding with louder scraping. Then came what approximated as someone spanking a naked bottom, a child bawling. He raised a hand intending to knock then chose instead to scratch his forehead.

Wrong casa. Had to be. Even if Cilo got married in the months since they last saw each other, the cleptus would hardly abide a ready-made family, not with his profession.

“Cilo?” Caderyn yelled. And again. Once more.

The door swung open. A feral-looking brunette glared out, her bony body sporting a loincloth and a breast-strap. The cesta—a poorer, untailored version of a strophium—flattened her tits to the shapes of empty waterskins and cut into her sides.

He mumbled, “Cilo?”

“Not here. You go.” She slammed the door in his face.

Miserable cunnus. Caderyn knocked, waited, knocked harder.

The woman again answered. Rosiness replaced the sallowness of her cheeks, blue eyes shining bright as an ocean on a sunny day.

“Cilo,” insisted Caderyn.

Not here. You go.”

“Where is he?”

She gritted and bared brown teeth. “Not—”

“Here and I should go, aio. First tell me my friend’s whereabouts.”

“Friend dead. Clepta corpse.”

Her assertion was a blow in the gut. “Dead…? When? How?”

“What when-how matter?” She tapped the side of her head. “You thick.” Then sniffed. “Phew.”

The door’s slamming boomed throughout the hallway. He lashed out with his foot, kicking the entrance open. There was a thud. A shriek. Before the woman could gather herself and come out from behind the door that had knocked her down, he barged into a room wherein a young girl rested upon a urine-stained mattress. Gouges marred the floor in front of her, the spike she had used clutched within her tiny fist. Snot ran over her lip. He scanned the wall and saw the hole for the spike from which the thief had hung his tools. The lone painting of harenarae fighting was absent as well. Like the tools and art that were gone so were the articles of clothing the thief folded and stacked under the window overlooking the avenue Caderyn had traveled.

The woman crept from behind the door wiping blood from her nose. “You no belong here. See, friend dead. Verum.”

A mouth that had gone dry turned his words into thick utterances. “For how long?”

“Last full moon.” She pushed at his chest. “Daughter me live here now.”

He retreated to the hall on heavy legs. “What happened?”

“Caught stealing. Died in—how you say square arena?—quadratum. But where make no difference. Neither when-how. Corpse never rebirth. You” —she waved as if shooing a fly— “go.”

What Is Your Favorite Sexual Position? Why?

Not sure I needed to address why this question is fun, but, if you feel I need to elaborate, let’s go with… imagine the look on your Mom’s face reading this chapter. Boom, you’re welcome! (Yes folks… that just happened!)

Overwhelmingly, it looks like there are two favorites: doggy style and cowgirl. Not sure what to make of that, but I’ll leave you with an off-color joke. Since I live in the South, and we love the South… What is a Southern couple’s favorite sexual position? Doggy style… that way they both can watch NASCAR!

Okay… not my best joke, but eh, what can you do?

  • While I believe every position can be pleasurable, I’m going with the flying lotus, preferably if he’s NOT in the kneeling position. Those of you that do yoga, you know what I’m saying, those that don’t look it up and thank me later. Why – maximum penetration, in addition to the tantric breathing brings a deeper sense of intimacy. When done right, you can feel like you’re breathing in each other’s soul.
  • Nicole Delacroix, F, USA, Atlanta GA, 29 until I tell you otherwise, Straight and Single, Aries

Wow, I just read that again and totally called myself a Hippy.

  • Inverted A+ common with Friday sauce smeared all over.
  • M, USA, 44, Straight in a Relationship

See, now I’m not sure if you’re being a smart ass or if you’re serious… it’s a coin toss. If you’re serious… what is Friday sauce?

  • ANY and ALL! Sex is great!!
  • F, USA, 31, Straight and in a Relationship, Aquarius

YES, YES it is… but, why are we yelling?

  • Doggie style, because I can reach down and… contribute. 😉
  • F, USA, 21, Straight in a Committed Relationship, Libra

So, my dirty, little mind went to places it should not have. Thanks for that one, I’m giving you ‘made me take a cold shower’ bonus points.

  • Cowgirl on a chair. I like eye contact and using a chair allows for better and deeper stimulation.
  • M, USA, 38, Straight and Married, Aquarius

Remind me not to sit down at your house… J

  • Depth of penetration and watching bouncing boobs amazing.
  • M, USA, 30, Straight and Engaged, Pisces

Bonus points for the bouncing boob comment. Yes, I giggled.

  • Doggy, so I can get spanked and hair pulled.
  • F, Canada, 20, Pansexual and Single, Cancer

See, I was disappointed you were the only one that brought up spanking. You get naughty bonus points.

  • Cobra, it’s intense with just the right kind of stimulation.
  • F, USA, 28, Bisexual and Dating, Capricorn

Another Yoga enthusiast! I’m just saying people, buy a copy of the Kama Sutra… you’re welcome.

  • Snuggle-fucking. Like spooning.
  • F, USA, 21, Flexible in an Exclusive Committed Relationship, Leo

Is it wrong that I love the name of this one… Hehehehe.

About the Book

Front Cover ArtTitle: Sexual Confessional: Confidential Admissions from Social Media

Author: Nicole Delacroix

Genre: Non-Fiction Humor / Essay

Discovering secrets is titillating.

Everyone wants to peek under the covers, be a fly on the bedroom wall, or read someone’s diary. The juicier the secret, the more people want to know it, and sex is the most taboo of all subjects.

It’s human nature to be curious about what everyone else is doing. What do people like about sex? What are their fantasies? How far are they willing to go to please the one they love? These questions and more are explored, where everyday people offer up their most intimate secrets about sex.

One part social experiment – one part personal journey mixed with a little shock value, a whole lot of confession, laugh-out-loud comedy, deceptively thought-provoking questions and answers, all in the name of self-awareness. A foray into the inappropriate Sexual Confessional is a brash, unfiltered look at sex in the new millennium as seen by social media. A cautionary tale that warns “be careful what you ask the internet for, you may just get it…”

Author Bio

Author Portrait - newNicole Delacroix was raised with a deep love for words and literature. This appetite for reading was the foundation fuelling her creative passion for writing. With a strong will and precocious nature, she is the atypical Texan Southern belle, preferring the fantastical, science and reason. Growing up in the buckle of the Bible Belt, writing was her saving grace.

A fan of all genres, she will most often be found buried in fantasy, science fiction or nonfiction, favoring George RR Martin, Douglas Adams and Michio Kaku, while Joan Rivers, Mae West, Madonna and Audrey Hepburn are personal role-models, each possessing a strength she admires. Diversity extends to her writing as well, as she writes about anything that strikes her interest, with a keen eye for character and the absurd.

A blogger, author, and IT professional for a major ISP, she is consistently sought out to provide guest blogs and the oft-maligned tech manual, and receives many requests to review new works from fellow authors. She believes life is about possibilities, which challenges her to write outside her comfort zone, trying new projects and meeting new people.

Fiercely loyal to friends, family and pets, she is a proud member of the Atlanta Writer’s Club, avid Tweeter, and closet Anglophile with addictions to British Tea, Doctor Who and Soccer. Above all, she maintains sarcasm is a legitimate art form and strives to challenge conventional thinking.

Author Bio

Pauline lived in New England most of her life. She grew up in the hills of northwest Connecticut, did her college on Maine’s beautiful coast and spent her early-married years in Massachusetts. She later returned to her Connecticut roots. She settled in with her husband, two boys and a big Great Dane on a small “gentleman’s farm” in the mountains (yes there are mountains in Connecticut) for 33 years.

During those years, they raised goats, geese, turkeys, chickens and a mischievous horse named Midnight Madness. After the boys grew up and had lives of their own, Pauline and her husband moved to Central Florida. Ever since the kids were little they had loved Disney- they are now only 20 minutes from the parks and visit often. She lives a quiet life writing fiction and motorcycling with her husband whenever she can find the time. Her two cats and fun loving miniature beagle keep life interesting.

This is Pauline’s first foray into a Romance type genre. (Her SciFi, Fantasy, Racing and Motorcycling books are published under a different pen name) “I always wanted to write books about women coming into their own while fighting adversity and finding meaningful relationships. My women characters are always strong and independent and in “Tug of War” I continue with Paula finding the courage and independence to find her own way.”

Don’t miss Pauline’s next romance, coming soon, “Love’s Passion Perfect”.
